Along
the east coast (Atlantic coast) you can start at one end of state
(north or south - you choose) and you nice folks can drive in
your car and lolliwag all along the coast, and you're sure to
find some pretty sand and ocean views to your liking.
Clearwater Beach
. You
have not seen a beach as wide with sand as soft and silvery white
and the water as clear as Clearwater Beach. Only about 100 miles
from Orlando, it is an easy drive along the highway, and one of
the best beaches for a family vacation.
Cocoa Beach
. If
you're looking for a peaceful and quiet swim in the ocean, a lazy,
hazy afternoon for relaxation then head out to "Cocoa"
Daytona Beach
. It
is probably the world's most famous beach and rightfully so. Whether
you like surfing, walking on the beach,
driving
on the beach, stopping
for lunch at the pier or just lying on the beach listening to
breaking waves, this is the place for you.
New Smyrna Beach
. Just
a little south of Daytona, New Smyrna is one of the few beaches
where
people like to escape to the relaxing warmth of the sand. It offers
a pristine beach as well as lots of interesting historical sites,
theatrical and musical performances. It is called one of the safest
beaches for families because of the rock ledges in the water that
protect against undercurrents.
St. Petersburgh Beach
. Located at the southern tip of the St Petesburgh / Clearwater
area, it can be accessed from Interstate 275 via the Pinellas
Bayway exit. It has many resorts and shops with a wide choice
of watersports available for the enthusiasts. You're right - it's
also called St.Pete's beach.
Treasure Island
. Treasure
Island is located just south of St. Petersburgh
beach. Exit 11 (5th Ave) from I-275 brings you to Central
Avenue which ends in Gulf Boulevard in Treasure Island.
